On Monday evening, the under-14 volleyball Raha Raptors team played a friendly match against Gems American academy.
The winner would be who would call victory for two sets out of three.
Both teams were made up of six players. The schools proved their skills for this game in a friendly way,
even though winning and making their school proud were important.
The first set slipped from the Raptors' hands by four points (25-21) but the team was still optimistic
and people sitting in the benches never stopped encouraging their teammates on the court.
Coach Andrea McKinnon switched people around and the team shouted "Raha together!" Then the second set began.
The Raptors gave all they had and proved that they were able to play in a professional way.
But sadly, after serves and bumps flew over the net, the second set wasn't Raha's for a very small difference of four points.
Gems won the game, but Raha girls were happy with the outcome of the match since they did all they could and knew how to apply what they had learned in practices.
Once both teams shook hands peacefully, the match was officially over. This was the Raptors' first under-14 volleyball match.
Now, the Raptors are looking forward to a rematch with Gems, and next time the result is going to be in Raha's favor.
